Autumn News

This year's theme for the Winery Art was Maps After Harvest We had a glorious day for our last day of harvesting, early October. And now, November is here, the leaves are turning and mushrooms explode out of the ground in the woods. The 2021 show promise The wines have almost all finished fermenting and our work in the winery is winding down as winter approaches. 2021 is a promising year: the wines are fresh and fruity and already very moreish. We're looking forward to bottling in … [Read more...]

We recently went on a beautiful winter walk, in a loop starting just a short drive away from us in Chateauneuf de Bordette. We came across views of the snow topped Montagne de la Lance as well as beauty on a smaller scale - frost covered hellebores, fields … [Read more...]

Winter work

Winter is a quieter time in the vineyard and so a chance to catch up on tidying up jobs. This year we have focused on clearing the plot edges so we can get through properly later in the year with the tractor and whatever equipment we need. We have trees running along many of our plots and some have grown too much, so out came the chainsaw: None of the wood will go to waste - once cut and split we stack it ready to burn in the stoves next winter … [Read more...]

Winery artwork

Every year our winery helper leaves us some artwork behind, it all started in 2017 with some modern art. 2018 and 2019 had their own chalk drawings: In 2020, our usual helper was on a well deserved holiday and caught out by the early start to harvest, so the artwork was short and to the point. Our 2020 helper was more into data: … [Read more...]
